Marker EPF Ski Binding Module
This project was dedicated to making a hybrid piste and alpine touring binding which improves a module that 5 generations of Marker ski bindings are built upon. By designing the next generation of this EPF (Extended Performance Frame) module, the company Marker would be able to improve a series of ski touring bindings through 3 new resource and cost-efficient parts. Weight, user friendliness, and using materials and production methods that have been used by Marker in the past, were key constraints in the design process. The design should easily be incorporated to other Marker bindings and would hugely advance the effortlessness of ski touring for beginners and regular on-piste skiers who would like to get more adventurous. The goal was to redesign the ascent aid on this compound frame, so that you can cycle through every of the 3 levels of the mechanism in an upright position, with the simple motion of any type of ski pole.
